- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
- Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let brownies cool completely.
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut brownies. Decorate as desired and serve.
Notes
For extra fudgy brownies, slightly underbake and cool completely before cutting.
Chill brownies for 20 minutes before cutting for cleaner heart shapes.
Add chocolate chips or swirl in Nutella for a richer flavor.
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
