- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth.
- Beat in eggs, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract.
- Gently fold in flour and salt until just combined.
- Pour batter into prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, until edges are set and center is slightly soft.
- Let brownies cool completely.
- Whisk powdered sugar and lemon juice to form glaze.
- Spread glaze over cooled brownies and let set before slicing.
Notes
Do not overbake—lemon brownies should stay dense and fudgy.
For extra zing, add a pinch of lemon extract.
Chill brownies before slicing for cleaner edges.
Store in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
