Ingredients
  

  • 1 bottle dry red wine Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, or Pinot Noir
  • ½ cup strawberry liqueur or triple sec
  • ½ cup orange juice
  • ÂĽ cup simple syrup or honey adjust to taste
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced
  • 1 orange thinly sliced
  • 1 apple diced (optional)
  • 1 cup sparkling water or prosecco added just before serving
  • Ice
  • Garnish optional:
  • Heart-shaped strawberries
  • Orange slices
  • Fresh mint

Method
 

  1. In a large pitcher, combine red wine, strawberry liqueur, orange juice, and simple syrup.
  2. Add strawberries, orange slices, and apple (if using).
  3. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.
  5. Just before serving, add sparkling water or prosecco.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish as desired.

Notes

For a sweeter sangria, add more simple syrup or use a sweeter wine.
Prefer lighter? Swap red wine for rosé or white wine.
Make it ahead—sangria tastes even better after chilling.
For a mocktail version, replace wine with cranberry juice and sparkling grape juice.
