  • 2 21 oz cans cherry pie filling
  • 1 box yellow cake mix 15.25 oz
  • Âľ cup 1½ sticks unsalted butter, sliced thin

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Dump cherry pie filling evenly into the bottom of the dish.
  3. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the cherry filling—do not mix.
  4. Distribute butter slices evenly over the top of the cake mix.
  5. Bake uncovered for 45–50 minutes, or until top is golden and bubbly.

Notes

You can substitute white cake mix or chocolate cake mix for a different twist.
