Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage mild or spicy
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1 can 10 oz Rotel diced tomatoes & green chilies, well drained
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese optional, for extra cheesiness

Equipment

  • Skillet
  • Mixing spoon
  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and fully cooked. Drain excess grease.
  3. Reduce heat to low and stir in cream cheese until melted and smooth.
  4. Fold in drained Rotel and shredded cheddar (if using). Remove from heat.
  5. Unroll crescent dough and separate into triangles.
  6. Spoon 2–3 tablespoons of filling onto the wide end of each triangle.
  7. Roll up crescents and place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden brown.
  9. Serve warm.

Notes

Drain Rotel very well to prevent soggy crescents.
Use spicy sausage for extra heat or mild for a family-friendly version.
Add chopped green onions to the filling for extra flavor.
Leftovers reheat well in the oven or air fryer.
