Ingredients

  • 10 cups popped popcorn about ½ cup kernels or 1 bag microwave popcorn
  • 12 oz white chocolate or vanilla almond bark
  • ½ cup red velvet cake crumbs from 1 cupcake or a few cake scraps
  • ½ cup red candy melts or white chocolate colored with red gel food coloring

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowl
  • Microwave-safe bowls
  • Baking sheet lined with parchment paper

Method

  1. Prepare Popcorn – Place popcorn in a large mixing bowl, removing any unpopped kernels.
  2. Melt White Chocolate – In a microwave-safe bowl, melt white chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  3. Coat Popcorn – Pour melted white chocolate over popcorn and toss to coat evenly. Spread onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Add Red Velvet Crumbs – Sprinkle red velvet cake crumbs over the coated popcorn while still wet so they stick.
  5. Drizzle “Blood” – Melt red candy melts and drizzle over popcorn for a bloody effect.
  6. Set & Serve – Let harden at room temperature (or refrigerate for 10 minutes). Break into clusters and serve.

Notes

For extra spookiness, drizzle with both dark chocolate and red melts for a gory, dramatic effect.
Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
Don’t have cake crumbs? Use red velvet Oreos or red sprinkles instead.
Great for party favors: portion into Halloween treat bags.
