Prep the Apples
- Wash and dry the apples thoroughly. Slice each apple into ½-inch thick wedges. Pat them dry again — moisture prevents caramel from sticking!
Insert the Sticks
- Insert a wooden stick into the base of each apple slice. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat it with nonstick spray.
Melt the Caramel
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine caramels and heavy cream. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and creamy.
Dip the Apple Slices
- Dip each slice halfway into the warm caramel, allowing any excess to drip off. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Add Toppings
- While the caramel is still soft, sprinkle or drizzle your favorite toppings — nuts, sprinkles, or a swirl of melted chocolate.
Chill & Serve
- Refrigerate for 10–15 minutes, just until the caramel sets. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
Keep it dry: Moisture is the enemy of caramel — make sure apples are completely dry before dipping.
Quick tip: Stick the apple slices in the fridge for a few minutes before dipping — the caramel sticks better to cold fruit.
Storage: Best enjoyed the same day, but you can refrigerate leftovers for up to 24 hours.
Topping ideas: Crushed pretzels, coconut flakes, or a pinch of sea salt for a gourmet touch.
