Cinnamon Apple Bread

Ingredients
  

  • For the bread:
  • cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • cups peeled and chopped apples about 1–2 apples
  • Cinnamon sugar topping:
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  • 9×5 loaf pan

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven
  2. Preheat to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.
  3. Mix dry ingredients
  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Mix wet ingredients
  6. In a large bowl, whisk oil, eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  7. Combine & fold
  8. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet. Stir until just combined. Fold in chopped apples.
  9. Add to pan & top
  10. Pour batter into prepared pan. In a small bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon for topping. Sprinkle over batter.
  11. Bake
  12. Bake for 55–60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  13. Cool & serve
  14. Cool in pan 10–15 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and enjoy!

Notes

Use tart apples like Granny Smith or sweet ones like Honeycrisp – or a mix!
For extra flavor, add ¼ teaspoon nutmeg or chopped walnuts.
Freezes well for up to 3 months.
