Method
Preheat oven
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
Prepare glaze
- In a medium saucepan over low heat, melt butter with sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until sugar is mostly dissolved and mixture is smooth.
Coat pecans
- Add pecans to the saucepan and stir until all nuts are evenly coated with the glaze.
Bake
- Spread coated pecans in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the nuts are golden and fragrant.
Cool
- Remove from oven and let the glazed pecans cool completely. They will harden as they cool.
Serve or store
- Enjoy as a snack, use to top salads, desserts, or oatmeal, or store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
Stir frequently while baking to prevent burning and ensure even caramelization.
For a more decadent twist, drizzle with melted chocolate after cooling.
Can substitute pecans with walnuts, almonds, or cashews.
