  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Equipment

  • 9-inch pie pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk
  • Spoon or spatula
  • Oven

Method

Preheat Oven:
  1. 350°F (175°C). Place pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan and set aside.
Prepare Filling:
  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together corn syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
Add Pecans & Chocolate:
  1. Stir in pecans and chocolate chips, reserving a few pecans for topping if desired.
Assemble Pie:
  1. Pour filling into prepared pie crust. Arrange reserved pecans on top.
Bake:
  1. Bake 45–50 minutes, or until filling is set and top is lightly golden. If the crust edges brown too quickly, cover them with foil.
Cool & Serve:
  1. Let pie cool completely before slicing. Serve as-is or with a dollop of whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

For extra chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate chips or chunks.
Make ahead: Bake the pie a day in advance and store at room temperature for the flavors to develop.
To test doneness, the pie should slightly jiggle in the center but not be liquidy.
