Course: Dessert, Snack
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • 2 bananas sliced into thick chunks
  • 10 strawberries hulled
  • 1 cup green grapes
  • 10 mandarin oranges peeled (or canned segments)
  • ¼ cup mini chocolate chips for eyes and faces
  • 10 wooden skewers
  • Optional: melon pieces blueberries, or pineapple chunks for variety

Equipment

  • Wooden skewers or lollipop sticks
  • Knife and cutting board
  • Paper towels
  • Small bowl for lemon juice (optional)

Method

Prepare the Fruit
  1. Peel and slice all fruits. Pat dry gently with paper towels to remove excess moisture so decorations stick better.
Make the Banana Ghosts
  1. Place 2–3 banana chunks on the skewers. Use mini chocolate chips to make “ghost faces” by pressing them gently into the bananas for eyes and a mouth.
Create Orange Pumpkins
  1. Add peeled mandarin oranges or orange segments onto the skewers. If using whole mandarins, poke a small piece of green grape or celery into the top to resemble a pumpkin stem.
Add Monster Grapes & Strawberries
  1. Alternate grapes and strawberries for bright pops of color. You can stick mini chocolate chip “eyes” onto grapes using a tiny dab of honey or melted chocolate.
Assemble the Kabobs
  1. Thread all fruit pieces onto the skewers in a fun Halloween pattern — mix and match ghosts, pumpkins, and monster faces for variety.
Chill & Serve
  1. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve chilled for the freshest flavor.

Notes

Tip: Dip banana slices in a little lemon juice to prevent browning.

Kid-friendly: Let kids decorate their own fruit ghosts and monsters — it’s a fun party activity!
Storage: Best enjoyed fresh; leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours.
