Method
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Spread half of the bread cubes evenly in the dish.
- Scatter half of the strawberries and cream cheese cubes over the bread.
- Add remaining bread, then top with remaining strawberries and cream cheese.
- In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour mixture evenly over bread. Gently press to help soak.
- Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until golden and set in the center.
- Cool slightly, then serve with powdered sugar or syrup.
Notes
Can be assembled the night before and refrigerated; bake fresh in the morning.
Use day-old bread for best texture.
Swap strawberries for blueberries or raspberries if desired.
Serve warm for the creamiest texture.
