Ingredients
  

  • 1 loaf brioche or challah bread cubed
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries sliced
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened and cubed
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1½ cups milk or half-and-half for richer texture
  • â…“ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ÂĽ tsp salt
  • Butter or cooking spray for greasing dish
  • Optional toppings: powdered sugar maple syrup, whipped cream

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread half of the bread cubes evenly in the dish.
  3. Scatter half of the strawberries and cream cheese cubes over the bread.
  4. Add remaining bread, then top with remaining strawberries and cream cheese.
  5. In a bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Pour mixture evenly over bread. Gently press to help soak.
  7. Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, until golden and set in the center.
  8. Cool slightly, then serve with powdered sugar or syrup.

Notes

Can be assembled the night before and refrigerated; bake fresh in the morning.
Use day-old bread for best texture.
Swap strawberries for blueberries or raspberries if desired.
Serve warm for the creamiest texture.
